If anyone lives near Birmingham I’ll be at the Open Day at the Museum Collections Centre showing the Natural Science collection that I’ve been helping to catalog for the past few weeks.

Museum Collections Centre 19th August 2012 - 19th August 2012

This event is your chance to see even more of the huge and varied collection of objects stored in the Museum Collections Centre which are usually only seen by the curators! We will be allowing more access to our collections so you can see anything from ceramics to vintage cars and bikes, dolls and toys to old industrial equipment. With our wide, eclectic range of objects this event promises to be of interest to everyone.

As an addition at this event we have an animal theme! Three favourites from BMAG will be coming down to the MCC for the day - Animalmania, Hatton Bug Zoo and the Hagley Falconry Centre. A detailed timetable will be available on the day but you will be able to see displays of flying birds of prey, insects, snakes, spiders, rabbits (maybe a giant one!), and many other furry friends, many of which you can handle and stroke.  Please note that all the animals need to take rests at times so please don’t be disapointed if one of them is not available during the time you wish to see it - there will always be something else to see and enjoy.

For those of you more interested in the historic display of natural history and other objects unrelated to wildlife we are operating special visits to the upper floors during the day - these offer a chance to see many objects not usually available on open days - mpre details on arrival.

Join us at the Museum Collections Centre, Nechells, from 11am-5pm (last entry 4pm) for an enjoyable day out for all. This event is FREE and there is no need to book for the day itself though spaces will be limited on the upper floor tours.

Come and visit next Sunday if you like taxidermy and skeletons!

About

I like Spring, Nine Inch Nails, and World of Warcraft. I do not like New Jersey or douchebags. My blog doesn't really have a 'theme'. It's just a smish-mash of randomness I find on the internets. Heads up for those who wish to follow me: I am an atheist, pro-choice, republican hating, LGTBQ loving kind of lady and will most likely be posting related things.
