I have a cat that thinks me being on the commode is the perfect time to try to sit on my lap. I set her on the floor and she jumps up to the lid of the tank and looks over my shoulder. She either loves me or she’s just weird.
My Bucky used to do this too before he ran away. Cats have no sense of personal space.
